George and Lee Hildebrand Passing

SWCA is sad to pass on this news from a long time member.

We sadly announce the death of George D. Hildebrand.  He passed away Thursday afternoon May 28^th 2020 of natural causes while working at home in his yard.  He was 87 years old.  Lee Hildebrand, his beloved wife, passed away 2 weeks prior on May 12^th 2020, also of natural causes.  She was 89 years of age.   George was a legendary man, hard worker, business owner, and leader.  George and Lee lived very full lives together and loved to entertain their many friends and family at their home in Washougal.   Lee helped keep the books for Hildebrand Concrete for many years and always supported George in all his business endeavors.  George started Hildebrand Concrete in 1971, almost 50 years ago.  He overcame challenges that would have crushed most men.  He was a talented concrete finisher and truly loved the trade.  George took tremendous pride in the company he had built and continued to go to the office every day, up until his passing.  He was always fascinated with the latest concrete trends, market changes, and new technologies.  He made it a point to attend the World of Concrete in Las Vegas almost every year. 
We would like to ask your help to compile memories about George, Lee, and the company.  We ask for any story or memory of George, knowing that there were many “colorful” and “exciting” stories of George on the job site.
