Ritchie Bros. was established in 1958 in Kelowna, BC, Canada. Today, the company operates from its global headquarters in Vancouver, BC, Canada and 40+ permanent auction sites around the world and operations in 15+ countries. Recently, Ritchie Bros. acquired IronPlanet in order to bring our customers unprecedented choice when it comes to asset dispersal.

Over 1,200 now as our company just expanded quite a bit. Ritchie Bros. and IronPlanet have combined as one company to bring our customers the best in unreserved onsite auctions, online weekly auctions and additional online marketplaces for selling and buying equipment.

What do you like most about your job or Ritchie Bros.?
Our auctions drive demand for equipment across all industrial categories, especially construction and transportation gear. When a client enters a piece into the auction and receives a better-than-expected return, I know that is going to make my client’s life easier in some way – and that’s what makes this job so rewarding.
Tell us about a recent or upcoming project/opportunity Ritchie Bros. is excited about.
On Friday, October 20, our Chehalis site will host another unreserved truck and equipment auction. Buy heavy equipment, trucks and more—with no minimum bids or reserve prices. You can buy equipment in person or online.
How did you first get involved with SWCA? How long has Ritchie Bros. been a member?
This is our first full year as members of SWCA. A customer referred us to the group and it was obvious that SWCA was a great group. We are always looking for opportunities to network with members of the local contracting community.
Why did Ritchie Bros. decide to join SWCA?
The interests and needs of SWCA are aligned with ours at Ritchie Bros. When we were introduced to the group, it was an easy decision.
