SWCA announces Construction Champion Award recipients

The Construction Champion Awards were designed to showcase SWCA member companies that are committed to the construction industry and exhibit qualities of leadership, craftsmanship, and community action.

1. General Contractor of the Year
Honorable mentions:
Halbert Construction Services, Tapani Inc., Robertson and Olson, Catworks Construction
WINNER: McDonald Excavating
“McDonald Excavating is the epitome of succession from Father to Son.  Ryan took over the reins of a relatively smaller construction company when Dad retired.  Ryan worked hard to learn and understand the ''business side'' of running a successful construction company.  From there Ryan increased the financial foundation and brought on board highly skilled Managers, Estimators, and labor force to extent that McDonald Excavating is now recognized as a major high-quality competitor able to successfully tackle larger complex projects. It is not unusual for McDonald Excavating to complete projects ahead of schedule and receive recognition for their high quality of work. Understandably Ryan give all credit to his crews.  We know leadership starts at the top and Ryan McDonald is a prime example of what good leadership can build.”

2. Subcontractor of the year
Honorable mentions:
Northfork Landscape, Tradesmen Electric, Tapani Inc.

WINNER: Legacy 6 Inc.
“Legacy 6 is an aggressive, young and innovative company which is dedicated to the growth of Clark County. Legacy 6 continues its support of the community through volunteerism and financial support to several nonprofits that benefit Child, Homeless and Veterans.”

3. Supplier of the year
WINNER: Peterson Cat
“Peterson Cat has provided quality equipment and service to contractors as well as being active in the community as well as the SWCA.”

4. Rookie Member of the year (any company that has joined the SWCA in the past year)

Sharkwater USA, Dan Tapani Excavating, Materials Testing and Inspection
