We have some exciting news! We are MOVING! Starting April 1st we will be in our new suite here at the Collins Plaza. We are excited for this upgrade & look forward to hosting you all there once we are moved and settled! In the meantime, if you are any good at painting, we’d love an extra set of hands or two & are happy to provide you with some food as a thank you! 😊
Here are some of the items we are working on this week!
- Congratulations to Michael Moore from Travelers Bond for winning the $150 gift card at last week’s Thirsty Thursday! Thank you to everyone who joined us and a HUGE thank you to everyone who brought a guest. Our members are our best referral source & we appreciate you!
- The Construction Executive Summit is happening on Thursday March 24, just 3 days after the mask mandate ends! Registration is open & sponsorships are still available. We are planning for an in-person event – this year’s Summit will include three keynote speakers, 12 breakout sessions and meals as well as a Supplier Expo and a Young Contractor Forum.
- Know any high schoolers interested in a career in the trades? Invite them to the Young Contractors Forum at the Summit – this is a great opportunity for them to meet construction professionals and ask questions about how they can get started. Students: Register here to attend. This event is free and sponsored by Parker, Smith & Feek.
- Registration for this year’s Classic Cup will open soon. We are working on the final details, but keep your eyes out for our email. The event sells out FAST!
- The Development and Engineering Advisory Board (DEAB) of Clark County is looking to fill a vacancy. The requirements of the position are that they “are associated with commercial or industrial development and works or lives in Clark County.” If you are looking to be more involved in influencing county code & the decisions that are made regarding development in the county, this is the seat for you. Email Sherrie for more information regarding this opening.
SWCA in the Community
- SWCA will be presenting to at Vancouver Rotary this week! We will be sharing a bit about workforce development efforts & new programs. Maybe we will see you there?
- SWCA is proud to partner with AGC Oregon and ESD 112 on a Teacher Externship this summer!
- Did you know the SWCA is the Volunteer Chair for Dozer Day? We need your help – we need volunteers and equipment operators for the event. Dozer Day is coming on May 14 & 15 this year at the Clark County Fairgrounds. This is the most amazing day for our young construction professionals to get in the driver’s seat of the big equipment. Check out the new website where you can volunteer or email Ellen and she can help you out.
