Spotlight on Fairway Mortgage

I got a chance to catch up with Michelle Zafiris of Fairway Mortgage.  While Fairway Mortgage has been a member since 2018, Michelle recently joined up as an associate member.  Michelle lives in Portland OR but is licensed in both Oregon and Washington.
 
What does your company do for its business?
Michelle describes Fairway as one of “the largest mortgage lenders in the country that you have never heard of.”  They have many local branches that have a lot of local autonomy. Michelle is an expert in reverse mortgages and a Certified Senior Advisor who teaches people how to use and manage their home equity.
 
How long have you been in SW Washington?
Fairway Mortgage has been operating in SW Washington for over 20 years!
 
What do your customers like about your company? (Why do they do business with you?)
People choose to do business with Fairway because they are fast, local and flexible.  In the reverse mortgage space, they have a very robust department and well-educated people.  Michelle views a large part of her job as educating people about the options that they have to plan for their futures.
 
Why did you join SWCA?
Michelle joined SWCA because of our location.  Southwest Washington is an attractive community for retirement and senior citizens as we have no income tax.  Michelle wants to be able to be a part of this community.
 
How did you find out about SWCA?
Michelle currently lives Portland OR and was doing her research on Southwest Washington.  Everyone told her to look at SWCA and our members – we have the best members!
 
If SWCA could do one thing for you, what would it be?
Michelle would love to be able to connect with business owners – she can offer some great coaching for how you can set up your business and your personal finances for future success!  Michelle joined us at the Holiday Party and Auction in 2022 and we expect to see her around at other events.  She is even interested in joining the Education Committee and maybe doing a Webinar!
 
What is your favorite thing about SWCA?
SWCA has the nicest people – both on staff and in our membership!
