EmPower Women's Leadership Conference

Please join us for Washington's premier leadership conference for women in trades careers. This is the 3rd biennial conference, and the first event in Southwest Washington. We are blasting the term NonTraditional! These are careers for women! This event brings together women in trades careers to celebrate their success as leaders, inspire other women to find and embrace their inner leader, and showcase the possibilities when women succeed in breaking barriers. Women and men should attend to join this shared movement to encourage more women to "lean in" as leaders and support recruitment and success of more women into these career opportunities. Keynote speaker Zenovia Harris, CEO, Kent Chamber of Commerce and President of the Pacific Northwest Diversity Council will be speaking on Implicit Bias in the Workplace. Keynote speaker Jamie McMillan, Founder of KickAss Careers will be addressing Leadership in Recruitment into the Trade. Other topics include: Professional Development, Personal Safety, Mentorship, Mental Health, Financial Empowerment and more. Please note the evening before Sunday March 8, 2020 from 4:30-6:30 we will be hosting an International Women’s Day celebration and conference kick off reception for conference attendees. Event organizers include: Washington State Construction Center of Excellence, NW Washington Center of Excellence for Marine Manufacturing & Technology, and ANEW (Pre-apprenticeship programs and employment navigation).
